Michael Sboro has been surrounded by racing since the age of eight years old. With the support of his family and friends, he successfully raced in different divisions and excelled at every level. Michael began his young racing career in go-karts and achieved over 100 wins in two years. Then moving to the 600 Racing Bandolero Series in 2000, Michael became the champion at Evans Mill Speedway and placed second at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Nationals. From there, Michael jumped into a Legend car and successfully earned both a track championship and the New York State Young Lions championship. Heading into the semi-pro Legend division, Michael had an impressive record giving him yet another New York State championship. By the end of the 2002 race season, Michael had made his way to the Legend Pro division.

Born and raised in Watertown, N.Y., Michael's family recognized his racing talent and potential and relocated their family to "Race City USA", Mooresville, N.C. in 2002. With the move to Mooresville, Michael was introduced to a new form of racing and began competing in the United States Auto Club's (USAC) Ford Focus Midget Series in 2004. Following two strong seasons racing in the Carolina Ford Focus Series, Michael was crowned the inaugural Northeast Ford Focus Series champion while finishing an impressive tenth in the Carolina region.
